Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Debra Tridico to approve the minutes of the July 17, 2008 meeting. Motion passed unanimously. Citizen Requests There were no citizen requests. Presentation Mary Jo Tellin presented the new Keep Grapevine Beautiful President Becky St. John to the Board. Mary Jo reported on Becky's past achievements, Awards, and the upcoming programs. New Business A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Lawrence Baker to approve the renewal of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with the Friends of Oak Grove Park for the C. Shane Wilbanks Trail, from Dove Loop to the trail head at the Oak Grove Soccer Complex. Motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Bob Tipton to consider renewal of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with Grapevine Excursions for the shoreline at Katie's Woods. Motion passed unanimously. Miscellaneous Board Reports ❖ Debra Tridico reported on lighting at Casey's Clubhouse. ❖ Debra Tridico asked for dimensions of Casey's Clubhouse sign at Dove and Hood. ❖ Roy Robertson discussed bicycle lanes in the City and bicycle education in the media. ❖ Dave Buhr discussed road signage at Ernest Dean and Hwy. 26. ❖ Ray Harris discussed the Kimball curve renovation. ❖ Elizabeth Kaufman discussed maintenance vehicles parking on the trails. Miscellaneous Staff Reports • An update report was given by Doug Evans on the construction of the Oak Grove Ballfield Complex. • A report was given by Doug Evans on the new restroom at Bear Creek Park. • A report was given by Doug Evans on improvements at the Meadowmere Park Soccer Complex and the Oak Grove Park Soccer Complex. A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by Larry Francis to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. Time: 7:30 p.m. RECORDING SECRETARY— Joseph D. Consider a date for the annual tour of parks and facilities in October The Board will discuss dates in October for the annual tour of parks and facilities. The best dates for staff will be Saturday, October 11th and Saturday, October 25th B. Boating Access Grant for a Low Water Boat Ramp at Meadowmere Park Staff has plans to submit a low water boat ramp grant to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department for the boat ramp and other improvements at the park. Staff will go over the concept plan and grant with the Board at the meeting. C. Improvements at the Oak Grove Soccer Complex Staff is recommending some improvements to the Oak Grove Soccer Complex and will go over the recommendations with the Board at the meeting.
