for the design of the low water boat ramp at Meadowmere Park to the City
Council for approval

Ballfield Complex

The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met on Thursday, April 16, 2009
at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas
with the following members present, to wit:

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Invocation
Bob Tipton gave the invocation.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Bob Tipton to approve the
minutes of the February 19, 2009 meeting and March 19, 2009 meeting/tour. Both
motions passed unanimously.
Citizen Requests
There were no Citizen Requests.
Presentations
Mary Jo Tellin made a presentation on the City-wide cleanups, recycling events and
environmental education programs.

New Business
Motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Roy Robertson to approve an
Adopt -An -Area agreement with Girl Scout Troop #1435 for Kimball Road from
Silvercrest Lane to Lake Grapevine and the C. Shane Wilbanks Trail, from Snakey
Lane to Silvercrest Lane. Motion passed unanimously.
Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Bob Tipton to authorize staff to
take the contract for professional services for the design of the low water boat ramp at
Meadowmere Park to the City Council for approval. Cost would be $361,300 total, with
$90,000 City match and $271,299 grant monies. Motion passed unanimously.
Doug Evans discussed the schedule for the Opening Day Ceremony at the Oak Grove
Ballfield Complex.

• Keep Grapevine Beautiful — cleanup date, given by Mary Jo Tellin.
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Bob Tipton to adjourn. The
motion passed unanimously. Time: 7:37 p.m.

V. New Business
A. Consider renewal of an Adoot-An-Area aareement with the Cohen Familv for
a portion of Parr Park, especially the drainage area that runs through the
park
The application form and report form are attached for review. Staff
recommends approval.
B. Update on the status of Rockledge Park
Joe Moore will update the Board on the status of the park since the City took
over management in March of 2009.
C. Report on the New Community Outreach Center
The new Community Outreach Center will be located on GCISD property off
Mustang Drive. Two portable buildings will be moved in to serve as the
Outreach Center. The Parks and Recreation Department will be involved
with the irrigation, landscaping and other amenities at the Center. There will
also be an opportunity to do some programming at the Center. Staff will go
over a site plan of the Center.
