The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met on Thursday, May 21, 2009
at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas
with the following members present, to wit:
Roy Robertson
Bob Tipton
John Dalri -
Larry Francis
Lawrence Baker
Elizabeth Kaufman
David Buhr
Debra Tridico
Ray Harris (arrived late)✓
Staff: Doug Evans
Joe Moore
Eddie Salame, Police Dept.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Invocation
Bob Tipton gave the invocation.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Elizabeth Kaufman to
approve the minutes of the April 16, 2009 meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Citizen Requests
Roy Robertson introduced Travis Smith as the new DORBA Trail Steward at
Horseshoe Trails.
Bob Tipton said he had received requests for a dog park.
New Business
Adopt -An -Area
Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by John Dalri to approve an Adopt -
An -Area agreement with the Cohen Family for a portion of Parr Park, especially the
drainage area that runs through the park. Motion passed unanimously.

Status of Rockledge Park
Joe Moore gave the Board an update on the status of Rockledge Park.
Community Outreach Center
Police Chief Eddie Salame gave information on this project, reporting that it is 3 years
old and that Mustang Drive is now expanding into school property with temporary
classroom buildings.
Miscellaneous Staff Reports
• Keep Grapevine Beautiful — Doug Evans and Joe Moore gave a report on the
Household Hazardous Waste event on June 20th, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn. The
motion passed unanimously. Time: 6:46 p.m.

VI. New Business
A. Consider approval of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with Mr. James Loftin for
the creek near Ruth Wall and Katie's Woods Drive
A copy of the application is attached for review. Staff recommends approval.
B. Discuss a "No Tobacco" ordinance for Citv owned/leased athletic fields in
Grapevine
The Board will discuss a proposed ordinance. Staff has received written
correspondence from the youth athletic association boards regarding support
for an ordinance.
