The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met on Thursday, June 18, 2009
at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas
with the following members present, to wit:
John Dalri
Larry Francis
Lawrence Baker
Elizabeth Kaufman
David Buhr
Debra Tridico
Ray Harris
Absent: Roy Robertson
Bob Tipton
Board Liaison: Shelby Freyou, Student
Staff: Doug Evans
Guests: Travis Smith, Terri Freyou and Mike Morris
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairperson Debra Tridico.
Citizen Requests
Mr. Travis Smith reported that there will be a skills clinic at Horseshoe Trails Park on
Saturday, July 25th at the east trailhead to the park. Mr. Mike Morris informed the Board
that the "Duck" was coming down Main Street and using Katie's Woods Boat Ramp and
that there was not enough parking for the amount of traffic at Katie's Woods.
Invocation
A moment of silence was observed by the Board.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by Larry Francis to approve the
minutes of the June 18, 2009 meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
New Business
Adopt -An -Area
Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by John Dalri to approve an Adopt -
An -Area agreement with James Loftin the creek at Ruth Wall Road and Katie's Woods
Drive. Motion passed unanimously.
"No Tobacco" Ordinance
The Board discussed a proposed tobacco ordinance for parks in Grapevine. Mr. Evans
informed the Board that the youth athletic associations all passed motions for tobacco

V. New Business
A. Presentation of the financial and participationreports from the
Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association, Grapevine Youth
Wrestling Grapevine-Collevville Youth Football Association,
Grapevine Youth Baseball and Grapevine Girls Softball Association
Officials from the associations will give a brief presentation on their
finances and participation.
B Consider renewal of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with Karen and
John McKergow for Kimball Road from Silvercrest to Roaring
Springs
Copies of the agreement and report from are attached for review.
Staff recommends approval.
C. Consider renewal of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with the
Grapevine Garden Club for the Botanical Gardens at Heritage Park
Copies of the agreement and activity form are attached for review.
Staff recommends approval.
D. Consider approval of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with the
Lambertson Family for Dove Loop, from main Street to Dooley
Street and for the creek that is located to the west of the Grapevine
Cemetery on Dooley Street
A copy of the agreement is attached for review. Staff recommends
approval.
E. Consider approval of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with Grapevine
Yoga for West Wall Street, from Main Street to Dove Road
A copy of the agreement is attached for review. Staff recommends
approval.
F. Consider approval of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with the Talluri
Family for Roberts Road, from Hall -Johnson Road to Glade Road
A copy of the agreement is attached for review. Staff recommends
approval.
G. Consider the appointment of Board Member Dave Buhr as the
liaison to Keep Grapevine Beautiful
Staff recommends approval.
