The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, September 24,
2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine,
Texas with the following members present, to wit:
Debra Tridico (left at 6:25)
Ray Harris
Elizabeth Kaufman
David Buhr
Absent: Bob Tipton
Staff: Doug Evans
Mary Jo Tellin
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Invocation
A moment of silence was observed.
Approval of Minutes
Larry Francis
John Dalri
Lawrence Baker
Roy Robertson
Joe Moore
A motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by Larry Francis to approve the
minutes of the August 20, 2009 meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Citizen Requests
There were no citizen requests.
Presentations
Joe Moore gave a presentation on the proposed improvements at the Vineyards
Campground.
Mary Jo Tellin gave a presentation on Keep Grapevine Beautiful 2009 Litter Index
and Activities.
New Business
Motion was made John Dalri and seconded by Elizabeth Kaufman to approve
October 15th at 5:30 p.m. as the date and time for the annual tour of Parks and
Recreation Facilities which include Parr Park, Meadowmere Park, Rockledge Park
and the Vineyards Campground. Motion passed unanimously.
Miscellaneous Staff Reports
• Update on the status of Rockledge Park:
➢ Doug Evans and Joe Moore reported on the status of Rockledge Park.
• Upcoming Recreation Division activities:
➢ Doug Evans reported on the City -Wide Garage Sale, Rise Adventure and
Doggie Dive -In.
• Play Equipment to Parras, Mexico:
➢ Doug Evans has more equipment from C.J. Hutchins to go to Parras.
• Shelby Freyou reported on the lighting of tennis courts at Grapevine High School.
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn. The
motion passed unanimously. Time: 6:59 p.m.
