" 2� DIREC R OF PARKS & RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. at the Senior Activities Center, 421 Church Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Roy Robertson John Dalri Elizabeth Kaufman Dave Buhr Absent: Larry Francis Staff: Joe Moore Guests: Mike and Kathy Morris Ray Harris Sr. Virginia Baker The meeting was called to order at 6:26 p.m. Invocation Bob Tipton gave the Invocation. Approval of Minutes Ray Harris Lawrence Baker Bob Tipton Debra Tridico Chris Smith A motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by John Dalri to approve the minutes of the September 24, 2009 meeting. Motion passed unanimously. Motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Ray Harris to adjourn for the annual tour of parks and facilities. Time: 6:40 p.m. RECORDING SECRETARY — Joe Moore, Asst. Director PARD ASST. DIRECTOR PARKS AND RECREATION CHAIR OF THE BOARD V. New Business A. Volunteer Trail Ranger Program Pam Nelson, Director of Parks and Recreation for The Colony, will inform the Board of their Volunteer Trail Ranger Program. B. Discuss and consider the meraer between the Grapevine Girls Softball Association and the Grapevine Youth Baseball Association Kevin Mitchell, Assistant Director of Parks, and Chris Smith, Recreation Superintendent, will give a brief powerpoint presentation on the benefits of merging the two associations. C. Consider approval of Adopt -An -Area agreements with several families/organizations for various areas in Grapevine Staff will inform the Board of all the areas the families/organizations are willing to adopt. D. Discuss the tobacco free ordinance relatina to parks in Grapevine The City Council has asked the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board to discuss the tobacco free ordinance as it relates to parks in Grapevine. Please see the attached memo on the tobacco free ordinance relating to the discussion and actions by the Board and the City Council.
