Consider renewal of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with the Glade Crossing Homeowners Association for Baze Road, from Hughes Road to Glade Road VII. DIRE STOR OF PARKS & RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Larry Francis John Dalri Ray Harris Dave Buhr Absent: Lawrence Baker Staff: Doug Evans Chris Smith The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. A moment of silence was observed. Approval of Minutes Roy Robertson Elizabeth Kaufman Debra Tridico Joe Moore A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Dave Buhr to approve the minutes of the August 18, 2010 meeting. Motion passed unanimously. Citizen Requests There were no citizen requests. Presentations Chris Smith gave a RISE Adventures report of activities at Meadowmere Park. • Chris reported that we have a great partnership with them and showed a video. • RISE Adventures is primarily an outdoor activity program for physically disabled. • There is approximately 2,005 participants for 2010. • Paul Grey is the lead person with RISE Adventures. • RISE stands for Recovery Inspiration Success Empowerment New Business Motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Ray Harris to approve the date for the October meeting as October 14th with a tour starting at the Vineyards Campground Pavilion. Motion passed unanimously. Motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by John Dalri to approve the renewal of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with the Glade Crossing Homeowners Association for Baze Road, from Hughes Road to Glade Road. Motion passed unanimously. Miscellaneous Staff Reports • Chris Smith reported on upcoming Recreation Division activities, including RISE Adventure Bash at Meadowmere Park on September 25`n • Chris Smith reported on the City -Wide Garage Sale and Keep Grapevine Beautiful as sponsor. There will also be recycling bins available. • Chris Smith reported on Halloween on Main Street on October 291n • Chris Smith reported on Concerts in the Parks which will be 4 Saturdays in October. • Doug Evans gave an update on the Meadowmere Park Boat Ramp Improvements. • Joe Moore reported on The Vineyards Campground Improvements. Miscellaneous Board Reports • Dave Buhr reported on Keep Grapevine Beautiful and the Trash & Treasure Clean Up on October 16th at Dove Park. • Ray Harris reported that LGRW is hosting the Double Trouble, a state championship race, on October gtn A motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by Dave Buhr to adjourn. Bicycle Friendly Grapevine — Staff will update the Board on efforts to make Grapevine a bicycle friendly city. B. Consider approval of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with DFW Surf for the shoreline adjacent to Katie's Woods Boat Ramp The agreement is attached for review. Staff recommends approval. C. Consider approval of a resolution supporting the Texas Recreation and Parks Account and the Texas State Park System The resolution is attached for review. Staff recommends approval.
