DIR OR OF PARKS & RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: John Dalri Bob Tipton Dave Buhr Ray Harris Larry Francis Staff: Doug Evans The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. Bob Tipton gave an invocation. Citizen Requests There were no comments made by citizens. Approval of Minutes Roy Robertson Debra Tridico Elizabeth Kaufman Lawrence Baker Samantha Cloud A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Elizabeth Kaufman to approve the minutes of the November 18, 2010 meeting. Motion passed unanimously. New Business Mr. Leon Younger, President of Pros consulting gave a powerpoint presentation on the latest trends in parks and recreation facilities and updated the Board on the progress with the update of the Open Space master Plan. Mr. Younger said that the next meeting will be on Monday, February 28th with the City Council to present the first draft of the Open Space Master Plan. Mr. Evans said that the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Members should attend the meeting. A motion was made by Elizabeth Kaufman and seconded by Debra Tridico to approve the Adopt -An -Area agreement with SHOEBACCA.com for Rockledge Park. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by John Dalri to renew the following Adopt -An -Area agreements: North Texas Orthopedics for a '/2 mile section of Ira E. Woods beginning at Kimball Road and Ira E. Woods and going south. Marty and Tia Metzger for Oak Grove Loop South from Dove Extension to the intersection of Trawick Trail and Oak Grove Loop North. Jim & Barbara Johnson for Snakey Lane. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Roy Robertson to renew an Adopt - An -Area agreement with Susan and ray Harris for the eastern shoreline of the cove adjacent to Meadowmere Park to Labrador Bay. The motion passed 8-0-1 with Ray Harris abstention Mr. Evans updated the Board on the progress with the Grapevine Links Trail, boat ramp improvements at Meadowmere Park, Daddy/Daughter Dance and Vineyards Campground improvements.
