The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, February
17, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street,
Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit:

Staff: Doug Evans, Joe Moore & Mary Jo Tellin
The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m.
Citizen Requests
There were no comments made by citizens.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by John Dalri to approve the minutes
of the January 27, 2011 meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Presentation
Mary Jo Tellin updated the Board on the 2010 activities of Keep Grapevine Beautiful
and the new Grapevine recycles program that includes on-line ordering and delivery of
bins and marketing and promotion efforts that have been put into place.
Trail Steward Program
Staff asked the Board for feedback on the Trail Steward Program and the Board talked
about the importance of promoting trail etiquette and safety. The Board also mentioned
weekends for setting up booths for greeting trail users and also about the importance of
good signage on the trails.
Miscellaneous Staff Reports
Staff updated the Board on the progress with the design of the Links Trail and
Meadowmere Park low water boat ramp improvements. Staff also informed the Board
of the upcoming Daddy/Daughter Dance on Saturday, March 5th at the CAC and the
need for volunteers at the event. Mr. Moore informed the Board of the improvements at
the Vineyards Campground.
A motion was made by Elizabeth Kaufman and seconded by Debra Tridico to adjourn.
Motion passed unanimously. Time: 7:10 p.m.

V. New Business
A. Consider approval of Adopt -An -Area agreements with Gene & Joan Bledsoe
for Mustang Drive. from W. D. Tate Avenue to Heritage Avenue and with
Austin Williams
Copies of the agreements are attached. Staff recommends approval.
B. Consider approval of the concept of a greenhouse at the Botanical Gardens
Assistant Director of Parks Kevin Mitchell will present the concept to the
Board, including cost estimates. Staff recommends the Board approve
Phase 5 of the Botanical Gardens.
