The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, March 17,
2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine,
Texas with the following members present, to wit:
Larry Francis
Roy Robertson
Debra Tridico
Dave Buhr
Bob Tipton
Ray Harris
Elizabeth Kaufman
Lawrence Baker
John Dalri
Staff: Doug Evans, Joe Moore, Kevin Mitchell
The meeting was called to order at 6:08 p.m.
Bob Tipton gave an invocation.
Citizen Requests
There were no comments made by citizens.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by John Dalri to approve the
minutes of the February 17, 2011 meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
New Business
A motion was made by Elizabeth Kaufman and seconded by Debra Tridico to approve
the Adopt -An -Area agreement with Gene & Joan Bledsoe for Mustang Drive, from W. D.
Tate Avenue to Heritage Avenue and with Mr. Austin Williams for the ESA at Lakeview
Park. Motion passed unanimously.
Kevin Mitchell passed out Grapevine Greenhouse Committee Mission Statement and
pictures of proposed Greenhouse concept of $150,000 price range for approximately
2,000 square feet.
A motion was made by Dave Buhr and seconded by Debra Tridico to approve Phase 5
of the Botanical Gardens. Motion passed unanimously.
Open Space Master Plan Update
Doug Evans announced a Public Meeting on Tuesday, April 12th at the Lancaster
Theatre. Doug also presented information on:

♦ Draft on PARD website, Senior Center, Community Activities Center, City Hall
and Service Center
Miscellaneous Staff Reports
• Joe Moore reported on the Grapevine Links Trail
• Doug Evans, Joe Moore and Kevin Mitchell each gave report on
Meadowmere Park Improvements
• Joe Moore reported:
➢ The Household Hazardous Waste event is March 26`n at the Grapevine
Service Center.
➢ Cast for Catfish is April Stn
➢ Spring into Nash is April 2"d
➢ The Vineyards Campground Open House is March 27tH
➢ Don't Mess with Texas event is April 9tH
Miscellaneous Board Reports
Dave Buhr reported on Keep Grapevine Beautiful activities.
Jorge Rodriguez reported that there have been no challenges against the incumbents
from the School Board.
A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn. Motion
passed unanimously. Time: 7:10 p.m.

V. New Business
A. Consider approval of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with the Grapevine
Heritage Ambucs for Kimball Road, from Dove Road north to the entrance of
Meadowmere Park.
A Copy of the agreement is attached. Staff recommends approval.
B. Discuss the Trail Steward Program and elect a liaison to work with Trail
Steward Manager Travis Smith
The Board will discuss the development of a safety and etiquette brochure
and elect a liaison to work with Trail Steward Manager Travis Smith.
