the entrance of Meadowmere Park
• Lambertson Family for Fall Creek, from West Dove Loop to the
Vineyards Campground (Creek West of Grapevine Cemetery)
• Grapevine Yoga for West Wall Street, from Main Street to Dove
Road
B. Consider approval of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with Winding Creek
Neighborhood Association for Dove Park
C. Report on the 'Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day" — Travis Smith

The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, October 20,
2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine,
Texas with the following members present, to wit:
John Dalri
Lawrence Baker
Dave Buhr
Larry Francis
Elizabeth Kaufmann
Staff: Doug Evans
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.

Joe Moore
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by Larry Francis to approve the
minutes of the September 22, 2011 meeting. Motion passed 8-0-1.
Citizen Requests
There were no Citizen Requests.
New Business
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Ray Harris to approve renewal
of the following Adopt -An -Area agreements:
• Grapevine American Business Club for Main Street, from SH 114 to Northwest
Highway and Barton Street and Jenkins Street
Motion passed 8-0-1, with Larry Francis abstaining.
• John & Karen McKergow for Kimball Road, from Silvercrest Lane to the
entrance of Meadowmere Park
Motion passed 8-0-1.
• Lambertson Family for Fall Creek, from West Dove Loop to the Vineyards
Campground (Creek West of Grapevine Cemetery)
Motion passed 8-0-1.
• Grapevine Yoga for West Wall Street, from Main Street to Dove Road
Motion passed 8-0-1.
A motion was made by Elizabeth Kaufmann and seconded by Ray Harris to approve an
Adopt -An -Area agreement with Winding Creek Neighborhood Association for Dove
Park. Motion passed 8-0-1.
A report on the 'Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day" was given by Travis Smith. Elizabeth
Kaufmann shared event details; i.e. education, training, riding, food, drinks, vendors.
Attendance was about 30-40 total.
Miscellaneous Staff Reports
• Joe Moore gave an update on the boat ramp at Meadowmere Park.
Joe Moore gave an update on the Fall event at the Vineyards Campground.
• Joe Moore gave an update on the Cottonbelt Hike and Bike Trail.
• Joe Moore gave an update on upcoming events which included the following:
➢ TACO Fall Show
➢ Baseball Tournament
Double Trouble 10K Race
➢ Los Chupacabra 10K Race at Rockledge Park
➢ Sunset Concert in the Parks
➢ Trash & Treasures event
Miscellaneous Board items
Keep Grapevine Beautiful Trash & Treasures event is coming up.
Robert Brunson (former Park Board member) passed away September 28th
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Lawrence Baker to adjourn.
Motion passed unanimously. Time: 6:55 p.m.

V. New Business
A. Consider renewal of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with the Tipton Family
Staff will e-mail the agreement early next week.
B. Consider approval of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with the Elks Lodge
Staff will e-mail the agreement early next week.

E. Consider cancelling the December Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
meeting
The Board will consider cancelling the December meeting. The Board has
not met in December for over 18 years due to the many holiday activities
going on in December.
