The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, November 17,
2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine,
Texas with the following members present, to wit:
John Dalri Roy Robertson
Ray Harris Ben Dyer
Dave Buhr Larry Francis
Lawrence Baker Debra Tridico

Staff: Doug Evans Joe Moore
Randy Sell
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Roy Robertson to approve the
minutes of the October 20, 2011 meeting. Motion passed 9-0.
Citizen Requests
There were no Citizen Requests.
New Business
A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by Larry Francis to approve
renewal of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with Barbara and Bob Tipton for Park
Boulevard. Motion passed 9-0.
A motion was made by Elizabeth Kaufman and seconded by Lawrence Baker to
approve an Adopt -An -Area agreement with the Elks Lodge for Bushong Road, from
Ruth Wall Street to Dooley Street. Motion passed 9-0.
A report on the Trash & Treasures event held at Lake Grapevine on Saturday, October
29th was given by Dave Buhr. There were 9 sponsors and included 525 hours of
volunteer time and 6,700 lbs. of trash, for a labor value of $11,997.00.
Randy Sell gave a report on the GrapeYard event held at The Vineyards Campground
on Saturday, October 29th. There were approximately 1,800 in attendance —
Successful! The parking was maxed out and $700 was raised in non-resident fees due
to 70% Residents to 30% Nonresidents. Staff is assessing if it can be held at Vineyards
again or may be moved.
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Debra Tridico to approve
canceling the December Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meeting. Motion passed
9-0.
Miscellaneous Staff Reports
• Joe Moore reported on the completion of the boat ramp at Meadowmere Park
• Doug Evans reported on the Denton Creek Trail erosion
• Joe Moore reported on the Hwy. 26 Cottonbelt Hike and Bike Trail
• Doug Evans reported on the Carol of Lights to be November 2 1 st.
Miscellaneous Board items
➢ Becky St. John gave a report on GCISD events.
➢ Seth Gillitzer requested that'No Wake Zones' be installed at Lakeview Park.
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Debra Tridico to adjourn. Motion
passed unanimously. Time: 6:48 p.m.

V. New Business
A. Discuss a partnership with Baylor Medical Center on a bicycle rack program
for Grapevine
The Board will discuss a bicycle rack program partnership with Baylor
Medical Center. Attached is some information on the proposed program.
B. Consider renewal of Adopt -An -Area agreements with the Mower Family and
with Pampered Home Pro
The agreements and report forms are attached for review. Staff
recommends approval.
