DIRE OR OF PARKS & RECREATION L — CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Larry Francis Elizabeth Kaufmann John Dalri Ben Dyer Absent: Ray Harris Staff: Doug Evans The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Lawrence Baker Debra Tridico Roy Robertson David Buhr Joe Moore A moment of silence was observed for the invocation. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Debra Tridico to approve the minutes of the February 16, 2012 meeting. Motion passed unanimously. Citizen Requests There were no Citizen Requests. New Business A motion was made by David Buhr and seconded by Debra Tridico to approve renewal of the Adopt -An -Area agreement with the Parker Family for College Street, from Main Street west to SH 114. Motion passed unanimously 8-0. Board Member Elizabeth Kaufman gave an update on new ADA requirements, Texas accessibility standards, TAS and growing populations. Doug gave a report on 2012 Quality of Life Improvements per the attached list. Miscellaneous Staff Reports • Doug gave an update on the Denton Creek Trail erosion. • Doug reported that the date for the SH 26 north hike and bike trail is being pushed back to 2013. • Joe gave an update on Ira E. Woods Trail. • Doug gave an update on the feasibility study for the CAC expa n sion/ren ovation. • Doug announced that the Meadowmere Boat Ramp Grand Opening is Thursday, April 19th. • Doug reported on upcoming events. Miscellaneous Board items o Dave Buhr gave the Keep Grapevine Beautiful event list: Household Hazardous Waste and Volunteer Opportunities o Doug Evans reported that the Paintball area cleanup still needs a little work for completion. o Sabre Holdings volunteer projects are May 8th cleanup at Big Bear Creek Park and May 10th at Meadowmere Park. A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Dave Buhr to adjourn. Motion passed unanimously 8-0. Time: 7:13 p.m. RECORDING SECRETARY — Joe Moore, Asst. Director l DIRECTOR OF PARKS & RECREATION V. New Business A. Consider a resolution in suDDort of Grapevine as a Runner Friendl Community The Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers have asked the City for support in submitting an application for the Road Runners Club of America's "Runner Friendly Community". The resolution is attached for review. Staff recommends approval of the resolution. B. Consider a partnership with Baylor Regional Medical Center and Mad Duck Cyclery for a bike rack program in Grapevine Please see the attached information on the program. Staff recommends approval of the program. C. Consider renewal of Adopt -An -Area agreements Please see the attached agreements and report forms, Staff recommends approval of the agreements.
