The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, July 19, 2012
at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411, Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas
with the following members present, to wit:

Becky St. John — GCISD Board Representative
Seth Gillitzer — GCISD Student Liaison
Staff Doug Evans, Jaycob Kirkpatrick
Grapevine Youth Athletic Association Representatives
Keith Hallman — President of the Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association
Mark Assaad — President of the Grapevine-Colleyville Youth Football Association
Mike Richmond — President of the Grapevine Baseball Softball Association
Mary Martin — Incoming President of the Grapevine Baseball Softball Association
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
A moment of silence was observed for the invocation.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by Ray Harris to approve the
minutes of the June 21, 2012 meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Citizen Requests
There were no Citizen Requests.
New Business
The youth association Presidents from the G ra pevine-South lake Soccer Association,
Grapevine-Colleyville Youth Football Association, Grapevine baseball Softball
Association gave their annual reports to the Board. The President from the Grapevine
Youth Wrestling Association did not attend but the Board did receive a report.
The Board discussed the appointment of a Board Liaison with Keep Grapevine
Beautiful. The former liaison, Dave Buhr, is now the Chair of the Parks & Recreation
Advisory Board. Motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Larry Francis to
appoint Benjamen Dyer as the Keep Grapevine Beautiful liaison from the Parks &
Recreation Advisory Board. Motion passed unanimously
Staff gave the Board updates on the Denton Creek Erosion project, new fishing pier at
Farris Branch and the design of the Dove Pool and bathhouse and Casey's Clubhouse.
Staff also mentioned that the city was not planning to spray mosquitoes for the West
Nile Virus.
Outgoing liaison to Keep Grapevine Beautiful gave a brief report on the activities of
Keep Grapevine Beautiful including a planned volunteer workday on Friday, July 27tH
Approximately 300 volunteers were expected to participate in park improvement
projects in several parks on Lake Grapevine.
Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn. Motion
passes unanimously. Time: 7:05 p.m.

• Jean Titus for the C. Shane Wilbanks Trail from Kimball Road to

Road to Parr Park
• Bear Creek Disc Golfers for Bear Creek Park
• Starr -Hancock Family for Ruth Wall Road, from Northwest Highway
north to the entrance of the Gaylord Texan
