Consider approval of a Adopt -An -Area agreement with: • First Baptist Church Colleyville Class of 2015 VII. Miscellaneous Staff Reports (No action will be taken on any of the following items) • Update on the Bicycle Rack Program in Grapevine • Update on Dove Pool and Bathhouse renovation • Update on Casey's Clubhouse re -design VIII. IN ACCORDANCE WITH TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE, CHAPTER 551.001 et seq, ACTS OF THE 1993 TEXAS LEGISLATURE, THE BO D MEETING AGENDA, WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS THE 14`" DAY OF ,BEPTEM ER 2 12 AT :00 P 1 DIREObR OF PARKS & RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411, Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Dave Buhr Roy Robertson Ray Harris Debra Tridico Absent: Lawrence Baker Staff: Doug Evans, Joe Moore The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Larry Francis John Dalri Elizabeth Kaufman Ben Dyer A moment of silence was observed for the invocation. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by John Dalri to approve the minutes of the July 19, 2012 meeting. Motion passed unanimously. Citizen Requests Michael Morris asked that Mike Hooker be given Kudos for his work during GrapeFest. Travis Smith reported "It's Take Kids Biking Day" on October 6m Travis also reported that he GPS'd the Horseshoe Trail. Election of the Vice -Chairperson and Secretary of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by Dave Buhr to nominate Elizabeth Kaufman for Vice -Chair. Larry Francis made a motion to close the nomination and it was seconded by Ray Harris. Motion to close the nomination was passed. Motion to elect Elizabeth Kaufman as Vice -Chair was approved unanimously. Motion was made by Elizabeth Kaufman and seconded by Debra Tridico to nominate Ray Harris for Secretary. Larry Francis made a motion to close the nomination and it was seconded by Ray Harris. Motion to close the nomination was passed. Motion to elect Ray Harris as Secretary was approved unanimously. New Business Council has reviewed median landscape plans for Ira E. Woods Ave./SH 26. A grant is available for $350,000 with TxDot paying for one-half of the $700,000 cost. Doug Evans presented a green year round landscape plan, river rock and no turf. There were concerns on size, density of trees and rock. Motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Roy Robertson to approve renewal of Adopt -An -Area agreements with the following: • Telephone Connection • MB & Kathleen Morris • The Perry Family • Jean Titus • First Baptist Church of Grapevine • Bear Creek Disc Golfers • Starr -Hancock Family Motion passed unanimously. Motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Elizabeth Kaufman to approve an Adopt -An -Area agreement with First Baptist Church Colleyville Class of 2015. Motion passed unanimously. Miscellaneous Staff Reports Doug Evans gave a report on the following • The Bicycle Rack Program in Grapevine will launch within the month. • Dove Pool and Bathhouse renovation has been designed and bid will be presented to the City Council next month. • The Casey's Clubhouse re -design has also been designed and bid will be presented to the City Council next month. Miscellaneous Board Items Benjamen Dyer reported that Mary Jo Tellin with Keep Grapevine Beautiful is doing an outstanding job. Trash & Treasures was a success. Keep Grapevine Beautiful is having an Appreciation Lake Cruise! Keep Grapevine Beautiful has reached $1 million value mark. Ben reminded everyone that November 10th is Texas Recycles Day. Ben is moving to Southlake, so a new Keep Grapevine Beautiful Appointee will be elected. Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Ray Harris to adjourn passes unanimously.
