The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met April 17, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the City Manager's Conference Room, 200 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to -wit: Roy Robertson John Dalri Ray Harris Terry Musar Larry Francis Debra Tridico with the following members absent: Gary Humble Dave Buhr Elizabeth Kaufman constituting a quorum with the following members of the City Staff: Doug Evans Joe Moore Kevin Mitchell Chris Smith Randy Sell The meeting was called to order at 6:24 p.m. A moment of silence was observed. Director of Parks & Recreation Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation Assistant Director of Parks Recreation Superintendent Recreation/Aquatics Supervisor Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by John Dalri to approve the March 20, 2014 minutes. Motion passed 6-0. Ayes — Roy Robertson, Ray Harris, Larry Francis, John Dalri, Terry Musar and Debra Tridico. Nays - None Absent —Gary Humble, Elizabeth Kaufman and Dave Buhr Citizen Requests There were no citizen requests. Presentations Randy Sell presented the Pleasant Glade Pool Concept Plan. Doug Evans presented the 1993-2013 Department Growth & Efficiency Report. Shane Wilbanks presented Parks & Recreation Advisory Board projects. Council Member Wilbanks distributed a list of the parks and suggested that the Park Board adopt a park to inspect monthly. Miscellaneous Staff Reports ® Parr Park restroom & other improvements — Kevin Mitchell reported. The restroom is now opened to the public. m Oak Grove Ballfield lights — Kevin Mitchell reported. o Meadowmere Park Master Plan — Joe Moore reported. The Corps of Engineers denied several conceptual items. ® Links Hike & Bike Trail — Doug reported. Staff is looking for construction trailer site. ® Botanical Gardens Fountain Renovation — Kevin Mitchell reported. The new design concept has been approved. ® Wall -Farrar Nature Park — Doug Evans reported the TPWD contract was received. • Vineyards Campground Cabins — Joe Moore reported. ® Upcoming Recreation events — Chris Smith reported on the following: o Mom & Me Tea event o Pools opening soon o Police/Fire Softball game at Oak Grove Complex. No action taken on the above items. Miscellaneous Board Items • Keep Grapevine Beautiful — Doug Evans provided update on the April 5th Epic Earth Day event. • GCISD Report — Becky St. John reported. New artificial turf for fields at schools. ® GCISD Student Report— Adam reported on the following: o Prom — May 10; pictures to be taken at Botanical Gardens o June 4 — Seniors to Picnic at Meadowmere Park No action taken on the above items. Adjourn Motion was made by Larry Dalri and seconded by Debra Tridico to adjourn the meeting at 7:31 p.m. Motion passed 6-0. Ayes — Roy Robertson, Ray Harris, Larry Francis, John Dalri, Terry Musar and Debra Trid ico.
