On the first and second floor porches, replace turned spindles with 2" x 2" square wood spindles and a wood rail at top and bottom-, top rail to have a chamfered wood cap-, as per the attached historic photo and sketch with the conditions the contractor and Historic Preservation Officer approve a railing mock-up at the site prior to construction-, and a building permit is obtained from the Building Department. An approved Cerficate of Appropriateness is not an approved building permit; a building permit i / is not required.
