1. Call to Order of Regular Meeting — Chair Melva Stanfield
Citizen Comments - Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Grapevine
Heritage Foundation Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by completing a
Citizen Appearance Request form with staff. A member of the public may address the Board
regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the Board's consideration of the item, upon
being recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Board. In accordance with the Texas
Open Meetings Act, the Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments.

The next meeting of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation Advisory Board will be at held on
Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 5:00 pm at the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau, 2"d Floor
Boardroom, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas. If you plan to attend this public meeting and
have a disability requiring special arrangements, please contact the Office of Historic Preservation
at 817-410-3185 at least 24 hours in advance. Reasonable accommodations will be made to assist
your needs.
In accordance with Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.001 et seq. Acts of the 1993 Texas
Legislature, the Grapevine Heritage Foundation Meeting agenda was prepared and posted by the

The Grapevine Heritage Foundation (GHF) held their regular scheduled monthly meeting at 5:00 p.m.
on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 in the 2nd Floor CVB Boardroom of the Grapevine Convention &
Visitors Bureau, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051. Present were:

1. CALL TO ORDER AND CITIZEN COMMENTS
Chairman Melva Stanfield called the meeting to order at 5:07 p.m.
Citizen Comments - There were no citizen comments registered.
Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Grapevine Heritage Foundation
under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form. In accordance with the
Texas Open Meetings Act, the Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking any action during
Citizen Comments.
2. WELCOME
Chairman Stanfield Welcomed the CVB staff and the GHF Board members.
3. MINUTES FOR APPROVAL
Mr. McCallum made the motion to approve the minutes as written from the February 15, 2023
regular meeting. Balla Wright seconded the motion,

4. OLD BUSINESS
A. Membership Report — David Klempin
David Klempin presented the membership report. The current membership has 165 active
members. We received $200.00 in donations for February and so far, $8,100.00 in March
due to Sponsorships and bricks.
B. Sponsorship Report — Balla Wright
Balla Wright reported the 2023 Nash Farm Sponsorship commitments so far are at
$22,500.00.
C. Nash Farm Report — Cody Scallions
Cody Scallions reported that February First Friday program was canceled due to the Ice
Storm; we had a Victorian Valentine event with 15 participants; Del Web Union Park had 16
people who made valentines and had a tour; we are starting an outreach program with Plano
Heritage Farmstead bringing 10 people, we cross trained, and we are working to create a
network of Heritage Farms and Museums; the casual attendance was 808 and total
attendance was 849 for January.
March First Friday was "Spring on the Farm" with 119 in attendance; Homeschool Day had
25 participants; Spring Break so far, we have had 504 people visit the farm and 57 people
have made cookies and are doing farm chores, the farm has been packed; a daycare came
out with 16 kids; we have a group of 50 scheduled to make cookies during Spring Break;
a special needs group is coming, we are planning to give them a very special experience
baking cookies, touring the farm and the Cotton Belt Adventure; we are expecting 3 school
tours with 239 students; the casual is 224 to date, attendance is 945 so far for March.
5. NEW BUSINESS
A. Update on Spring into Nash — Cody Scallions
Cody Scallions reported vendors are set, crafts and activities materials are ordered. There is
a GHF signup sheet for volunteers for the event, from set up to break down. A GHF table is
planned with board members to talk about GHF and share our GHF story. Buttons were
discussed and we are looking for options for new members. The event is April 22, 2022.
B. Update on the Farm to Fork Fundraiser Dinner- Cody Scallions and Balla Wright
The Farm to fork Fundraiser will be held April 29, 2023 from 6 to 9 PM. Cody reported that
they met with Justin Mason for the entertainment and he will perform for 40 minutes at no
charge to GHF. The meal will be served in the Ratliff Pole Barn, on long tables to encourage
conversations. The Pole Barn will be decorated with Edison lights and Texas farm style
table decorations to create a big WOW. Cody is preparing a Power Point presentation that
will include photos of Spring into Nash to be presented before the meal is served. 360
Catering will provide the food and servers. The meal will be farm style with foods found on
the farm. The menu will be upscale with a pork entree, seasonal vegetables, German

Chocolate Cake and wine to be followed with a concert & photo opportunity. The attire will
be "casual cowboy/cowgirl", boots and jeans encouraged. There are 60 tickets to sell at
$125.00 each. Cody will track the donations that come in after the event to see the impact of
the event.
C. Grapevine Heritage Foundation Brochure Report — Melva Stanfield
Chairman Stanfield reported that the Brochure committee consists of Melva Stanfield,
Frances Jensen, Austin Kellerman and David Klempin. She asked Austin to give a report: he
said they are working on a 4-fold brochure with 8 panels of full color design. Frances is
doing the design; the plan is to have it ready for the Main Street Festival.
The Nash Farm News Letter is complete and at editorial for final review.
D. Calendar Committee Report — Melva Stanfield
Chairman Stanfield reported that the Calendar Committee members are Wendy Nelson,
Courtney Fray and Melva Stanfield. The next meeting will be March 27 at 5:30 pm. The
theme is "Unforgettable Grapevine", It will include photos of buildings that have been
restored and stories about them, why it matters and why we restore it.
E. Update on the 2023 Preservation Advocacy Award Program — David Klempin
David Klempin reported that May is Historic Preservation Month and we will be presenting
the Advocacy Awards at the City Council meeting on May 2, 2023 6:30 PM. He shared the
nominations that have been received so far and the options for recognition:
1908 Roberson House, 608 South Dooley Street; moved and saved
1908 Blevins House, 428 East Wall Street, we saved it from being demolished;
1936 B. R. Wall House, 415 South Dooley Street, was on the Candlelight Tour 2022;
1908 Perlick House, 530 East Worth Street; Bungalow with new addition
6. LIAISON REPORTS
A. Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau Liaison Report — Paul W. McCallum
Paul W. McCallum reported that Spring Break business is booming from the Hotels,
Attractions, Restaurants, Palace Theater, Nash Farm, the Rail Road Adventure Camp, and
the train rides, all are busy. Coming up is the Kiss Me I'm Irish Train, it is close to a sellout.
The Sales Team and Meowolf are in New York on a sales mission, at the 35th Annual St.
Patties Day sales mission. The New Vintage Wine Trail has a new addition of a Fine Art
Display. It is scheduled for Saturday, April 15th at Peace Plaza with a VIP event on Friday,
April 14th. The $140,000.00 in Grant money recently approved for the Nash Farm Barn Roof
replacement and Wagon Barn Expansion is from the proceeds of the 2022 Main Street Fest.
In the 2016 Grapefest, Barossa Valley wines from Australia were served. Now Barossa
Valley's city representatives have reached out to our city manager and gave a personal
invitation to Mayor Tate to come visit the Barossa Valley in April 2023.
B. City Council Liaison Update — Duff O'Dell
Council Member Duff O'Dell reported from the recent City Council meeting. The Daughters
of the American Revolution (DAR) convention plan to dedicate a historical marker and make
a proclamation at the Torin Cabin at 2 pm March 15. We have lost a wonderful Grapevine

pioneer Patricia Stinson, she was the only GHF Board Member Emeritus. One of our current
board members, Sue Franks has been in the hospital for 3-4 months.
The Velvet Taco is open; Son of a Bucher a slider bar is about to open. Chicken and Pickle
is breaking all kinds of records; The City Council is working with a developer to develop a
loan for Dallas Road to help tie in with down town. Everyone is invited to attend a City
Council Meeting or watch it online to be more involved with the community.
Our next regular meeting is scheduled for April 19, 2023.
7. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:20 pm was made by
David Stine and seconded by Balla Wright, with the following vote:
