FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER
MEETING DATE: MAY 16, 2023
SUBJECT: 023 WATER IMPROVEMENTS FOR WEST KIMBALL ROAD AND
LAKERIDGE DRIVE AND APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approving a contract for the construction of the
2023 Water Improvements for West Kimball Road and Lakeridge Drive RK
Construction, LLC and an ordinance appropriating the funds.
FUNDING SOURCE: Upon approval of the above recommendation, funds will be available in

BACKGROUND: The City is in the process of improving the Kimball Road "curve" from

an important connection to the City's water network connecting the dead
end mains at Hillcrest Court to Lakeridge Drive. This installation needs to
be completed prior to the start of the roadway improvements and is part of
the City's water network Master Plan.

within their on -call engineering services contract. Kimley-Horn prepared
plans and contract documents that were used to advertise and bid the
project. All required USACE permits and licenses have been obtained.

not only the bid process (90% of weight), but also bidder's qualifications
(4%), construction experience (4%) and safety record/litigation history (1
