HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-10-16STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Regular Session on the 16th day of October, 1979 with the following persons present to -wit: Dway,q-e Rogers Jerry Burgess Harlen Joyce Ron Cook Robert Sands R.O. "Bob" Stewart Chairman Vice Chairman Member Member Member Member constituting a quorum with Member Sharron Spencer absent with City Engineer, J.R. Baddaker, P.E., and Acting City Secretary Bobbie Phillippe also in attendance. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Dwayne Rogers called the meeting to order. NEW BUSINESS ZONING APPLICATION Z79-33 (HOBRATSCH) The first order of business was for the Planning and Zoning Commission to consider Zoning Application Z79-33 and make a recommendation to the City Council. The application was sub- mitted by Mel Hobratsch of Landmaster Development Company for the property located on the West side of Highway 157 between Glade Road and Hall Johnson Road. The applicant was requesting a change of zoning for two acres presently zoned "R -l" Single Family Dwelling to "SP" Specific Use Permit incidental to the construction and operation of Mini -Storage units and other uses as permitted under "C-2" Community Business District Zoning Category. A lengthy discussion centered around the lack of sewer and water facilities. Commissioner Harlen Joyce made a motion to deny the application on the basis of lack of sewer and water facilities for fire protection as discussed, and the Future Lanj Use Map shows that the area in question is zoned for a residential area. Commissioner Stewart seconded the motion and it prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Rogers, Burgess, Joyce, Cook, Sands, Stewart Nays: None Absent: Spencer ZONING APPLICATION Z79-34 -(BROOKSIDE ASSOCIATES) The next order of business was for the Planning and Zoning Commission to consider Zoning Application Z79-34 submitted by Brookside Associates, Inc., to change the zoning of a 3.26 acres tract of land; and a 1.71 acres tract of land generally located on the East side of Park Boulevard near West Northwest Highway. The requested zoning for Tract 1 (3.26 acres) is from t'C-1" Neighborhood Business District Zoning to "SP" Specific Use Permit District Zoning incidental to the construction and operation of a limited number of two story garden apartments and other uses as permitted under "C-2" Neighborhood Business District Zoning.
