HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-08-19STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Regular Session on the 19th day of August, 1980 with the following persons present to -wit: Duane Rogers Chairman Sharron Spencer Vice -Chairman Harlen Joyce Member Ron Cook Member Harold Anderson Member Gerald Norman Member Robert Sands Member constituting a quorum with City Engineer, J.R. Baddaker and Secretary, Susan Jennings also in attendance. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman Duane Rogers. ZONING APPLICATION Z80-29, Ginsberg The first order of business was for the Planning and Zoning Commission to consider Zoning Application Z80-29, submitted by Steven I. Ginsberg and make a recommendation to the City Council. After a brief discussion, Member Harold Anderson made a motion to deny the application on the basis of lottering. He stated there was already an abundant amount of lottering outside the service station and added that litter might also be a problem. Member, Harlen Joyce seconded the motion and it prevailed by the following vote: Ayes : Spencer, Anderson, Joyce, Cook, Norman,_& Sands Nays : Rogers ZONING APPLICATION Z80-31, Keith Cecil The next order of business was for the Planning and Zoning Commission to consider Zoning Application Z80-31, submitted by Keith Cecil, and make a recommendation to the City Council. A lengthy discussion centered around the suitability of the property for the purpose intended. Member Sharron Spencer stated there would be parking for 350 vehicles. She added that Northwest Highway was already busy, therefore, could not accomodate 350 additional vehicles exiting onto Highway 114. The discussion continued around traffic being a major problem. Member Harold Anderson then made a motion to deny the application. After a brief discussion, Vice -Chairman Sharron Spencer made a motion recommending approval of the final plat of Ranchettes - Addition. Member Harlen Joyce seconded the motion and it pre- vailed by the following vote: Ayes: Rogers, Spencer, Anderson, Joyce, Cook, Norman, & Sands Nays: None CONSIDERATION OF THE MINUTES - July 15, 1980 - July 30, 1980 The next order of business was consideration of the minutes of July 15, 1980 and July 30, 1980. Chairman Duane Rogers made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes and approve them as printed. The motion was seconded by Member Gerald Norman and prevailed by the following vote: Ayes . Rogers, Spencer, Anderson, Joyce, Cook, Norman, Nays . None Astained: Sands ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Commission, Member Robert Sands made a motion to adjourn.
