HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-10-21STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Grapevine, Texas, met in Regular Session on this the 21st day of October, 1980 with the following persons present to -wit: Duane Rogers Chairman Harlen Joyce Member Ron Cook Member Harold Anderson Member Gerald Norman Member Robert Sands Member constituting a quorum with Vice -Chairman Sharron Spencer absent with City Engineer, J.R. Baddaker, P.E., and Secretary Susan Jennings also in attendance. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman Duane Rogers. ZONING APPLICATION Z80-41, Schepps The first order of business to come before the Planning and Zoning Commission was the consideration of Zoning Application Z80-41, submitted by Schepps Food Stores and make a recommendation to the City Council. ra *A /##After a brief discussion centering around the suitability as to to), w/ fig the location of the property for the purpose intended, Member fil 60�si Gerald Norman made a motion to recommend approval of the application. W -The motion was seconded by Member Harlen Joyce and prevailed by the following vote: Ayes : Rogers, Joyce, Norman Nays : Anderson, Cook, Sands Absent : Sharron Spencer ZONING APPLICATION Z80-43, Sapienza The next order of business to come before the Planning and Zoning Commission was the consideration of Zoning Application Z80-43, submitted by Suzanne Sapienza. Member Harold Anderson stated the need for a good restaurant, although he did also state his concern as to the amount of money being used for restoration of the building. Mr. Sapienza then commented he intends to have $32,000 worth of improvements put into the property. There being no further discussion, Member Harlen Joyce made a motion to approve the application. The motion was seconded by Member Robert Sands and prevailed by the following vote: Ayes : Rogers, Joyce, Sands, Anderson, Norman Nays : Ron Cook Absent : Sharron Spencer ZONING APPLICATION Z80-44, Cinco Banditos The next order of business to come before the Planning and Zoning Commission was the consideration of Zoning Application Z80-44, submitted by Cinco Banditos, and make a recommendation to the City Council. There being little discussion, Member Harold Anderson made a motion to approve the application as submitted. The motion was seconded by Member Harlen Joyce and resulted in a tie vote as follows: Ayes : Rogers, Joyce, Norman Nays : Anderson, Cook, Sands Absent : Sharron Spencer NOTE: In the event of a tie vote, as in this instance, it is the opinion of City Attorney, John Boyle that the tie vote constitute a recommen- dation to the City Council of a denial.
