SUBJECT: AWARD OF A QUOTE FOR REPLACEMENT FENCE AT DENTON
CREEK AND OPRYLAND LIFT STATIONS
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award a quote for replacement
fence from Ware Fencing for Denton Creek and Opryland lift stations the
Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Enterprise Utility Fund for an amount not to
exceed $44,520.
BACKGROUND: This is for the purchase of replacement fences for the Denton Creek and
Opryland lift stations. This is to replace existing chain link fences with
board-on-board fences that will better obstruct the view into the stations
and increase overall security.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy.
Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under
$50,000. Three quotes were submitted as noted below. Ware Fencing
submitted the lowest quote meeting specifications.
Ware Fencing $44,520.
JL Lopez Construction $56,050.
GW & More Construction $58,314.
Staff recommends approval.
