SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF A 2023 FORD F150 RESPONDER TRUCK
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of a 2023 Ford F150
responder truck from Silsbee Ford, Inc. for the Police Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Equipment Purchase Fund for a total
amount not to exceed $51,449.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for one 2023 Ford F150 Responder Police Pursuit
Vehicle to replace unit #94118. This vehicle was damaged in an accident
and totaled by our insurance adjuster.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with the Region VIII Education Service Center known as The
Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) in Texas as allowed by Texas Local
Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter
791.
Bids were taken by the cooperative and contracts were awarded to
Silsbee Ford, Inc. The Public Works Department, Fleet Services and
Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for departmental specification
compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide
the best product and pricing for meeting the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
