SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF HEAVY-DUTY RESCUE TOOLS FOR THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of heavy-duty rescue
tools from Siddons-Martin Emergency Group for the Fire Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Equipment Purchase Fund for a total
amount not to exceed $127,401.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for rescue tools on several of the Grapevine Fire
Department apparatus. These tools have reached their end of life and the
models that we carry are not manufactured or supported any longer. We
have requested and received Capital funds to replace three sets of these
tools.
This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local
Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General
Exemptions (a)(7)(A). Siddons-Martin Emergency Group is the authorized
source for Holmatro Rescue Equipment for the State of Texas.
Staff recommends approval.
