HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 09 - Parks and Recreation BoardMEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER
MEETING DATE: JULY 18, 2023
SUBJECT: AMEND PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEMBERSHIP
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider an ordinance to amend the Grapevine Code of
Ordinances, Chapter 16 Parks and Recreation to add a position to allow
for an additional student ex-officio member to the Parks and Recreation
Board, and take any necessary action.
FUNDING SOURCE:
BACKGROUND: Currently, Chapter 16 of the City Code allows for a Parks and Recreation
Board ex-officio member to be a high school student and Grapevine
resident.
Since both Grapevine High School and Colleyville Heritage High School
serve the City of Grapevine, staff proposes adding a second ex-officio
member position to allow two high school students to serve on the Board.
These appointments will be recommended to City Council from the Parks
and Recreation Director for approval during the regular Board and
Commission appointment process each summer.
