Emails were handed out to the Golf Board that we had received through the website.
ITEM 1— GRAPEFEST GOLF TOURNAMENT AND BOOTH
There was a brief discussion about the golf tournament and participating with a booth at the
Grapefest. CVB will be making the decision on the beneficiary of the golf tournament.
ITEM 2 — DRIVING RANGE LIGHTS UPDATE — Russell Pulle
Russell Pulley reported that we are still waiting on Corp of Engineers approval on the lights.
They have stated that this is only a formality, but we are now at three weeks waiting for the
approval.
ITEM 3 — SCORECARDS AND YARDAGE BOOKS — Russell Pulle
Russell stated that we had received the new scorecards and the yardage books with the
advertising. He stated that we had sold over 100 of the yardage books.
ITEM 4 — — UPDATE ON COURSE MAINTENANCE — Merlin Tielkemeier
Merlin reported that in the 2' week of August his staff will be performing the real aerifying of
the greens. This is when holes are punched. It will take about three weeks for the greens to
recover. Danny asked why they could not spread out the process over the month and Merlin
stated that you run the risk of not getting recovery before the growth of the grass goes dormant.
In the fall he stated that they will be planting more Bluebonnet seeds and hopefully the next year
there will be more Bluebonnets that come up. Tom Kormondy stated that the course looks great
coming across the dam.
