SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN SENSORS AND OXIDATION-
REDUCTION POTENTIAL SENSORS FOR TRAIN 3 FOR THE
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of dissolved oxygen
sensors and oxidation-reduction potential sensors from HD Supply
Facilities Maintenance for the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Utility Enterprise Fund for an amount not to
exceed $29,666.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for dissolved oxygen and oxidation-reduction potential
(ORP) sensors for the Train 3 aeration basin. These sensors will improve
operation of the Train 3 aeration basin. We will have the ability to monitor
dissolved oxygen levels real-time along with having predictability trends
from the ORP sensors.
This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local
Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General
Exemptions (a)(7)(A) from HD Supply Facilities Maintenance, the
documented provider for dissolved oxygen sensors.
Staff recommends approval.
