SUBJECT: CONTRACT RENEWAL FOR OPENGOV ASSET MANAGEMENT
SOFTWARE
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approving a three-year contract renewal for
software updates, software support and software maintenance for the
Public Works Department operations and asset management system with
Opengvov Asset Management Software.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Public Works) and Utility
Enterprise Fund in an amount estimated to be $103,214.
BACKGROUND: Public Works has utilized Cartegraph Navigator as its work order
management system since 2007. Cartegraph has been purchased by
Opengov on July 27, 2022 and is now called Opengvov Asset
Management. Our current term year will conclude on March 10, 2024. We
are seeking to upgrade our current capabilities for the remainder of this
year and lock in our pricing for the next three-year term.
This action is to authorize spending $6,708.33 of budgeted departmental
funds for the remainder of our current term, and $96,505.00 for the first
year of the new contract.
Opengvov is the sole source provider of maintenance for this software.
This procurement will be a sole source contract in accordance with Local
Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.022 (a)(7)(A)
as approved by City Council in October of 2006.
Staff recommends approval.
