HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 32 - TransmissionMEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: SEPTEMBER 5, 2023 SUBJECT: REBUILD AND INSTALLATION OF A TRANSMISSION RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the rebuild and installation of a transmission for a fire apparatus from Inland Truck Part Company for the Public Works Department. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Fleet Services) for an amount not to exceed $15,372. BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the rebuild and installation of the transmission for a fire apparatus due to failure caused by normal wear and tear. The purchase for the rebuild and installation of the transmission for unit #10118 will be made from Inland Truck Service, who specializes in heavy truck service and will be made as a sole source purchase in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, §252.022. General Exemptions (a)(7)(3). Staff recommends approval. RB/LW
