Citizen Comments -Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Grapevine
Heritage Foundation Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by completing a
Citizen Appearance Request form with staff. A member of the public may address the Board
regarding an item on the agenda either before or during theBoard's consideration of the item, upon
being recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Board. In accordance with the Texas

The next meeting of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation Advisory Board will be at held on
Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 5.00 pm at the Grapevine Convention &Visitors Bureau, 2nd Floor
Boardroom, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas. If you plan to attend this public meeting and
have a disability requiring special arrangements, please contact the Office of Historic Preservation
at 81 - 10-3185 at least 24 hours in advance: Reasonable accommodations will be made to assist
your needs.
In accordance with Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.001 et seq. Acts of the 193 Texas
Legislature, the Grapevine Heritage Foundation Meeting agenda was prepared and posted by the
15th day of September, 2023 at 5:00 pm.

The Grapevine Heritage Foundation (GHF) held their regular scheduled monthly meeting at 5:00 p.m.
on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in the 2nd Floor CVB Boardroom of the Grapevine Convention &
Visitors Bureau, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051. Present were:

1. CALL TO ORDER AND CITIZEN COMMENTS
Vice-Chairman Frances Jensen called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Citizen Comments - There were no citizen comments registered.
Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Grapevine Heritage
Foundation under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form. In
accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Advisory Board is restricted in discussing
or taking any action during Citizen Comments.

2. WELCOME
Vice-Chairman Jensen welcomed the CVB staff and the GHF Board members.
3. OATH OF OFFICE
The Oath of Office was administered by the Grapevine Historic Preservation Programs
Secretary Kayce Vanderpool to Frances Jensen and Courtney Fray to the Grapevine Heritage
Foundation Advisory Board.

A. Membership Report— David Klempin

D. Grapevine Heritage Foundation Brochure Report— Frances Jensen
Frances Jensen reported that the Brochure Committee met two weeks ago and handed off
the brochure to David Klempin and Sallie Andrews to fine tune and review with Scott Baker at
the CVB. The QR code for membership will be the same as the one on the calendar.
E. 2024 Calendar Committee Report—Wendy Nelson
Wendy Nelson reported they did not meet yesterday. David spoke with Scott Baker (CVB)
and the calendar needs to go to print in 3 weeks to have it ready to deliver at the Annual
Meeting. The QR code for membership to match the Brochure. The calendar is titled
"Unforgettable Grapevine" it is a trip down Main Street with the icons, businesses and
prominent residential houses portrayed.
7. NEW BUSINESS
Cody Scallions gave an update on the Nash Farm Fall Round-up, Oct. 14, 2023 at 10 a.m.- 2
p.m. He will be emailing a list of activities and a volunteer sign up list to the board. All
supplies have been ordered, with plans of activities on bees, medications, AMBUCS will
handle concessions.
Barn Dance is Friday Oct 13th 6:30 p.m., the price is $25.00 per ticket which includes a Fried
Chicken Dinner and the special Pie Auction set up being planned to display the pies.
Harvest Moon Supper September 30, at 6:30 p.m. It is sold out with 75 tickets at $75 each.
There will be a seating chart to let groups sit together; 360 catering will handle food
preparation. The menu looks great with old recipes and using a modern rendition of the old
recipes.
8. LIAISON REPORTS
A. Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau Liaison Report—Chris Laugenour
Frances Jensen mentioned going to the Festival on Saturday Night and it was very busy,
with great people watching. The Vendors have said this is the best show ever and it was a
record-breaking day. Wendy Nelson reported on Tate Designs yard games, a first-time
vendor, told her that this event is life changing for her business and they really want to come
back again. Wendy and her husband Seth will be the Chairs for the 2024 Main Street Fest.
Chris Laugenour thanked them for the comments about the festival and CVB loves to hear
all the great reports. The Sister City signing with Barossa Valley was very successful.
The CVB will now focus on the upcoming events at Nash Farm, the Train and Christmas
Capitol of Texas.
The "Mumentous" display is being set up in the CVB lobby currently.
B. City Council Liaison Update — Duff O'Dell
Councilwoman Duff O'Dell reported that the Council survived the festival a crazy weekend.
Duff O'Dell said she always wears her nametag and met so many people.
The Sister City Accord signing is a great opportunity from a cultural perspective, it is
educational, it creates friendships and it helps spread kindness in the world. The students

attended a High School Football game and went to some classes at the school. It's a great
exchange program.
At the Council meeting the Fire Department was recognized, a woman showed up to share
her story about when she called 911 and the dispatch talked her through CPR until they
arrived, her husband survived due to the well-trained staff and many other amazing survival
stories due to the amazing Grapevine Fire Department.
Councilwoman O'Dell also shared about Historical Society has a trip to Fort Worth planned
to go to the Civil War Museum (that will be closing in December and selling off its collection)
and the Sid Richardson Museum with a collection of Remington Art.
The next regular meeting of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation is scheduled for October 18, 2023.
9. ADJOURNMENT
At 5:37 p.m. Courtney Fray made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Wendy Nelson
seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 5:37 p.m. with the following vote:
