HomeMy WebLinkAbout1916-03-17143 March 17, 1916 Council called to order by Mayor CE Walker with the following aldermen present GE McCombs, DD Wall, JH Withrow, EF Brown, LH Cook Minutes of last meeting read and adopted. Committee on water through reported that the trough should be located near the southwest corner of square about 20 yards from band stand. Committee was instructed to proceed to build the trough at once. Report of Church Street committee deferred. the following bills were allowed 394 GV Water works February 2.00 395 Wall and Lowe by JD Glover 6.00 396 Wall and Low Spradley 401 Tom Pearson (work on street) 1.20 402 Grapevine Sun (Statements) 8.90 403 MT Chambers (Salary and work) 29.40 404 Chas Stowe (street cleaning) 3.00 405 JS Teague (gravel hauling) 3.00 406 RA Patton (street cleaning) 3.35 407 Wafford Henderson (street cleaning) .75 408 JS Davis (hauling junk) 2.00 409 JL Wiley (hauling water) 1.00 Moved an carried that bills for work on Main shall be paid March 11, 1916. Petition was presented by DM O'Neal which was discussed and being generally agreed that Mr. Fousts sewer in the present condition was very unsanitary. Council agreed to meet March 31, 1916 to take up the matter. WP Kendrick wanted something done about Joe ____ racket and objects to automobiles blockading sidewalk. Marshall was instructed to keep sidewalk clear and tell Joe not to make so much noise. Moved and carried that a committee be appointed to investigate cost of sewer for City. LH Cook and DD Wall were appointed. No further business Council adjourned.
