Meeting of City Council held May 5, 1923
Council called to order by Mayor by DD Wall.
Present GE McCombs, CM Mullican, EE Lowe, FP Wiegers, HC Yancey, Wm Bennett WJ Jones.
Minutes of previous meetings read and approved.
EM Yates met with the City Council and discussed the opening of Morehead Street from Jenkins Street west to Main Street. The Mayor appointed JEM Yates, EE Lowe and EM McCandles as a committee to take the matter up with the property owners along the Street and see what could be done in regard to opening same.
The following bills were received allowed and offered

Motion carried not to pay FW Burrough for light on Cotton Belt Railroad crossing north of Mrs. CC Estell's until same has been moved as per agreement with Light Commissioner sometime ago $1.00 _____ berm deduced from April bill.

The Tarrant County State bid 4% on the average daily balance of said funds when in excess of $100.00 and offered to loan the City any amount up to $1000.00 at 7 percent per annum on notes duly authorized and signed by Mayor and City Secretary.
The Grapevine Home Bank bid 5% on the average daily balance of said funds when in excess of $100.00 and to loan the City any amount up to $1000.00 on notes duly authorized and signed by the Mayor and City Secretary.
The Farmers Note Bank did not offer a bid.
The bid of the Grapevine Home Bank was accepted and said bank was selected as the depository of the City funds for the year 1923 and HC Yancey was elected Treasurer of the City.
Dr. JC Bennett was was unanimously elected City Health Officer for the coming year.
The City Secretary was instructed to write to some of the different towns around the State and find out what kind of ordinances they had in regard to Street Peddlers etc. He was also instructed to route the edition of the Texas League of Municipalities and get the issue which carried an article containing some proposed ordinances concerning and regulating street peddlers, etc. and also to have the edition of ____ magazine to change the paper from the old alderman to the newly elected members.
EE Lowe was elected Mayor Pro Tem.

The appointment of BB Filmore as Chief of the Grapevine Fire Department by Fire Commissioner Lowe was approved by the City Council .
Motion was carried to move the fire truck from City Garage to e Willhoite's Garage for the coming year.
No Further Business appeared. Motion carried to adjourn.
