HomeMy WebLinkAbout1925-01-19A called meeting of the City Council was held Monday, January 19th, 1925 with EE Lowe as Mayor presiding and with the following alderman present: LD Kirkpatrick, JA Spinks, JW Harrison and HC Yancey. The mayor stated that the meeting was called for the purpose of opening bids on the construction of the Grapevine Water Works. After all bids had been open read and considered, the following were accepted and the successful bidders were awarded the contracts: Motion by LK Kirkpatrick seconded by JW Harrison Unanimously carried ______ The bid of the Municipal Excavating Company, Dallas, Texas for laying the pipe of $________________ was accepted subject to them making the proper bond. The City reserved the right to buy the piping in case they should be able to buy it at a smaller frigure than the contractor and deduct the amount of the pipe from the above figures as such other conditions as are now of record in contract between the City of Grapevine, Texas and the above company, which contract is held by the City Secretary of the City of Grapevine, Texas. Included in the same motion, the bid of the Chicago Bridge and Iron Works, on the elevated steel tank and tower for $5680.00 was accepted. also the bid of Echols brothers on the large pump house for $3614.00 was accepted. Motion by JW Harrison, seconded by LD Kirkpatrick unanimously carried to buy 100 Hersey meters at $10.39 each and the mayor was authorized to make contract for same. Motion by HC Yancey seconded by JT Harrison unanimously carried to buy 100 covers for meter boxes at $2.50 per cover.
