HomeMy WebLinkAbout1925-05-15Regular meeting of the CIty Council of Grapevine, Texas held on the 15th day of May, 1925 in its regular meeting place in Grapevine, Texas with the following present: EE Lowe, Mayor, JW Harrison, JA Spinks, LD Kirkpatrick, Earl Yates and HC Yancey, Alderman. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. The following bills were read allowed and ordered paid. #1589 DD Wall, Laying 2 inch water pipe $150.00 #1530 PA Bennett, reservoir lock $3.00 #1531 John Baker, express charges $1.00 #1532 Axtell and Co. 75 meters $790.13 #1533 CL Jenkins, express charges $15.13 #1534 Khleber Lipscomb, cleaning out ditch with team $2.00 #1535 Khleber Lipscomb, 18 hrs with team 0.75 five loads gravel @ $2.00 per load #1536 Axtell and Co. Fittings $23.50 #1537 Axtell and Co 1998'8" 2" pipe $464.43 #1538 Southwest Meter Box Co 20 valve boxes $60.00 Bids were received on the pumping equipment for the water works. Briggs-Weaver Machinery Co, Dallas bidding low on the Air Compressor and centrifugal were awarded the contract. on motion duly seconded and by unanimous vote of the City Council. Their bid was $1907.00 with Air Compressor and centrifugal pump completely installed, allowing the City the privilege of buying pump pipe. City to furnish foundations. all other bids filed with the City Secretary. One 15 and one 25 HP General Electric Motor were purchased from the Texas Power and Light Company at $451.50 both completely installed on foundation furnished by City. The following contract was made with the Texas Power and Light Company to furnish power for operating the water works. Bids for the CIty funds for the year 1925-26 were received as follows: Farmers National Bank bid 4 per cent on average daily balance in excess of $100.00 and 6 per cent on average daily balance in excess of $100.00 and 6 per cent on loans to City, Tarrant County National Bank, Grapevine, bid 4-1/10 per cent on average daily balance in excess of $100.00 and 5-9/10 per cent on average in excess of $100.00 and 6 per cent on loans to the City. The bid of the Grapevine Home Bank, being low, their bid was accepted and HC Yancey was appointed treasurer for the ensuing year.
