FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER
MEETING DATE: APRIL 19, 2016
SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF
POOL MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR DOVE WATERPARK
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a resolution for the purchase of pool maintenance
services for Dove Waterpark from Sunbelt Pools.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in account 174-74015-312-070 (Park
Maintenance Projects) for an amount not to exceed $27,750.00.
BACKGROUND:
This request is for a maintenance process at Dove Sprayground and Dove Waterpark.
The maintenance will restore the shade structure supports at Dove Sprayground that are
beginning to rust and will re -gel coat the open flume slide at Dove Waterpark. Both of
these processes will help extend the life expectancy and help defer replacement costs.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing Interlocal Participation
Agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (BuyBoard) as allowed
by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102, Cooperative Purchasing Program.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Sunbelt Pools. The
Parks and Recreation Department staff and Purchasing reviewed the contract for
specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide the
best product and pricing for meeting the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
