Bureau Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by completing a

CVBB regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the Board's consideration
of the item, upon being recognized by the Board Chair or upon consent of the CVBB. In

CALL TO ORDER
Board Vice Chairman, Mark Terpening, called the meeting to order at 8:08 a.m.
Board Vice Chairman Terpening called for a motion to approve the minutes from the

veptember 21, 2023 meeting. Motion by Dan Weinberger and seconded by lain Scouller, the
minutes from the September 21, 2023 meeting were approved.
SALES AND MARKETING REPORT
Managing Director of Sales, Marketing & Communications, Leigh Lyons, reported that in the
fiscal year 2023, Joe Thompson, CVB Director of Sales, challenged the sales team to source a
record number of room nights for our stakeholder hotels. The largest number that the team

s'.. reater than 1.5 million. And in 2023, the team not onl reached
the goal but surpassed the goal. This was partly achieved because the team stayed in the
market and continued building relationships during COVID and immediately following the
pandernic, returned to tradeshows and sales missions. Since that time, they have actively
pursued every lead.
She also reported that the Smith Travel Research report showed Grapevine hotel occupancy for
September 2023 was 76.2% and average daily rate was $199.21, which is up from 69.2%
occupancy and $191.21 in August 2023.
Mrs. Lyons shared that staff, along with representatives from Great Wolf Lodge, Grand Hyatt,
Gaylord Texan and Hotel Vin, are at IMEX, the largest tradeshow in the United States for the
appointments.
Mrs. Lyons shared a report on recent media coverage. Clippings from the Dallas Morning News
Weekend Guide highlighting GrapeFest, ltalianCarFest and Oishii were presented. The Fort
Worth Star Telegram Guide was also shared as it had relevant content. There were 3.7 million
impressions on Visit Grapevine's Facebook and Instagram posts.
She then shared press releases from September covering Day Out with Thomas, GrapeFest,
Signing of the Sister City Accords with Barossa Australia, and the Mumentous exhibit,
• BUSINESS
Executive Director, •. W. McCallum, shared an update on the Concourse project. He shared
that the CV13 team meets regularly with the architect firm and the architects are in the
development phase of design and construction. The anticipated completion for design and
construction drawings is late December/early January with the construction phase to ideally
begin soon after.

Director McCallum shared that the Grapevine Today publication had changed publishers fro
the previous year and that the upcoming 2024 issue was well underway. The publisher is
currently working on layout and photo placement and cover selections are being finalized. T

goal is to emphasize experiences and events that make memories. This goes beyond just the
activities but aims to create an idea of how they make you feel while experiencing the
Christmas Capital of Texas with friends and family. He went on to show Christmas Capital pri

Mrs. Lyons reported on multiple happenings within Grapevine. Hilton DFW Lakes has
completed a twenty million dollar renovation. The renovations focused on updates to all the
guestrooms and guest corridors at the property.
DFW International Airport is on track for its largest passenger count in its fifty year history. The
ten year lease agreement with American Airlines will result in the construction of Terminal F
along with the remodeling and connecting of Terminals A and C. DFW Airport estimates that
there will be 78 million travelers through the air�f ort this 0ear with the airYcort now offering 193
nonstop domestic flights and 67 nonstop international flights.
Trinity Metro is celebrating its 40th anniversary and is offering free rides for all passengers
traveling in Tarrant County for the month of November. That includes all buses, TEXRail,
Some businesses are getting upgrades while others are new to Grapevone. CrushIT! will
undergo a 1.5 million investment for expansion, adding six multisport simulators, including a VR
shooting game and baseball hitting simulators. There will also be a roll -up door for patio
seating. Oishii Sushi is now open in the former Lava 10 building. There have been many great
reports about the freshness, quality and variety of offerings. Besa's Pizza is now open on
Highway 26, near Caf6 Italia. Besa's is owned and managed by father -daughter pair, Al and
excursions for this event are sold out. HalloWine Trail takes place on Saturday, October 28.
This event has a maximum attendance of 700 attendees and usually around 500 wear
costumes. There are three Trick Or Treat excursions scheduled for October 29 and tickets are
selling well.
