NEW BUSINESS Randie Frisinger briefed the Building Board of Appeals regarding the item scheduled to be heard in the regular public hearing. ADJOURNMENT With no further discussion, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:15 P.M. ELECTION OF OFFICERS For office of Chairman, Clint Hallman nominated Joe Lipscomb. Jerrold Sklar seconded the motion which prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Sklar, Kidd, Hallman, Biesiadny, Coventry, Kirkman Nays: None Abstain: Lipscomb Absent: None Jerrold Sklar made a motion to close nominations, Clint Hallman seconded the motion which prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Sklar, Kidd, Hallman, Biesiadny, Coventry, Kirkman Nays: None Abstain: Lipscomb Absent: None Joe Lipscomb was re-elected as Chairman. For office of Vice-Chairman, Russell Kidd nominated Jerrold Sklar, Clint Hallman seconded the motion which prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Lipscomb, Kidd, Hallman, Biesiadny, Coventry, Kirkman Nays: None Abstain: Sklar Absent: None Jerrold Sklar was re-elected Vice-Chairman. PUBLIC HEARING BUILDING BOARD OF APPEALS TO CONSIDER BUILDING BOARD OF APPEALS CASE BBA16-01, CITY OF GRAPEVINE Building Board of Appeals to conduct a public hearing relative to Case BBA16-01 for the consideration of the adoption of amendments to Chapter 11 of the Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Fire Protection and Prevention, relating to the adoption of the 2015 International Fire Code as well as amendments to the code. Fire Chief, Darrell Brown addressed the Board; he stated that they were requesting the Board forward to City Council a recommendation for the adoption of amendments to Chapter 11 of the Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Fire Protection and Prevention, relating to the adoption of the 2015 International Fire Code as well as amendments to the code. Fire Chief, Brown stated that the City of Grapevine was currently regulated by the 2006 International Fire Code. He stated that in 2014 the Board heard and approved their recommendation for the adoption of the 2012 International Fire Code. Because the 2015 International Fire Code was in the process of being released by the International Code Council the adoption of the 2012 International Fire Code had been postponed. Discussion was held regarding the possibilities of becoming an ISO (Insurance Service Organization) Class I City and benefits to Grapevine commercial property owners and their insurance rates. Fire Chief Brown, introduced Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal Frisinger and Assistant Fire Marshal Bryan Parker to present the code changes to the Board. 2 Building Board of Appeals 51912616 Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal Frisinger and the Board analyzed all changes that were being proposed relative to the consideration of the adoption of the 2015 International Fire Code being recommended to City Council. With no questions for Fire Chief Brown, Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal Frisinger, Assistant Fire Marshal Bryan Parker and no additional speakers, Jerrold Sklar made a motion to close the public hearing. Clint Hallman seconded the motion which prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Lipscomb, Sklar, Kidd, Hallman, Biesiadny, Coventry, Kirkman Nays: None Absent: None Paul Coventry made a motion to forward to the City Council a recommendation for the adoption of amendments to Chapter 11 of the Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Fire Protection and Prevention, relating to the adoption of the 2015 International Fire Code. Jerrold Sklar seconded the motion, which prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Lipscomb, Sklar, Kidd, Hallman, Biesiadny, Coventry, Kirkman Nays: None Absent: None NEW BUSINESS Next the Building Board of Appeals considered the 2016 Agenda Schedule with a correction to the January 11 , 2017 date to reflect the sixteenth. Paul Coventry made a motion to accept the 2016 Meeting Agenda Schedule. Shea Kirkman seconded the motion which prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Lipscomb, Sklar, Kidd, Hallman, Biesiadny, Coventry, Kirkman Nays: None Absent: None MINUTES Next for the Board to consider was the minutes of the October 13, 2014, Briefing Session and Public Hearing.
