HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 23 - Carol of LightsMEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: NOVEMBER 21, 2023 SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF AUDIO/VISUAL EQUIPMENT AND MANPOWER FOR CAROL OF LIGHTS RECOMMENDATION: City Council consider ratification for the purchase of audio/visual equipment and manpower for Carol of Lights from Marc Events for the Parks and Recreation Department. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Parks Department) for a total amount not to exceed $24,586. BACKGROUND: This purchase/ratification for all audio-visual equipment for the 35th Annual Carol of Lights on Monday, November 20. It includes speakers, sound engineers, and other professional equipment for the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Peace Plaza, live performances at Town Square Gazebo, fireworks, and laser shows at City Hall. Due to the undetermined total amount of equipment needed, the department will not know the total amount of services until the final invoice is received, but should not exceed the estimated amount approved. This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General Exemptions (a)(7)(A). Staff recommends approval. TM/EB
