IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S., AS AMENDED BY
CHAPTER 227, ACTS OF THE 61ST LEGISLATURE, REGULAR SESSION,
1969, THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND
POSTED ON THIS THE 11TH DAY OF MARCH, 1980.

The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in
regular meeting at 7:30 P.M., on this the 13th day of March,
1980, with the following members present to -wit:
Ron Armstrong, Chairman
Sue Hall
Tom Walker
Jim Swinney
Melvin McGrue
The following staff members were present:
Kevin Conklin, Director of Parks and Recreation
Skip Nemitz, Superintendent of Parks
Lynne Prewitt, Superintendent of Recreation
The meeting was called to order by Ron Armstrong.
The invocation was given by Jim Swinney.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved unanimously.
Under miscellaneous reports and/or discussions, the parks and
recreation divisions reports and updates were given.
Under Action Items, the following business took place:
A. Tom Walker motioned and Melvin McGrue seconded that the
Grapevine Swimming Pool be closed the last 2 weeks of
August, except for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The
pool would also be open on Labor Day, the last official
day of its operation. The motion passed unanimously.
This staff and board recommendation will be submitted to
the City Council for their consideration.
B. Jim Swinney motioned and Melvin McGrue seconded that a
$3.00 per hour per team field reservation fee be charged
for the use of Grapevine lighted athletic fields. The
motion passed unanimously. This staff and board
recommendation will be submitted to the City Council for
their consideration.
C. There were several changes considered on the subject of
board appointments. These will be discussed at a regular
meeting on Thursday, April 10, 1980.
Under Discussion Items, the following was brought before the
board:
A. The Grapevine Archery Range proposal was approved by the
Council.
B. It is now time to begin preparing the 1980-1981 budget.
There being no further business, a motion was made by Ron
Armstrong to adjourn. It was seconded by Tom Walker. All
present voted aye. The meeting was adjourned.
