ADJOURNMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S., AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 227, ACTS OF THE 61ST LEGISLATURE, REGULAR SESSION, 1969, THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS THE 18TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1980. ?IREi&TOR�F* 4RKS�AND�REC�RRT`ION CITY OF GRAPEVINE X COUNTY OF TARRANT X STATE OF TEXAS X The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in regular meeting at 7:30 P.M., on this the 21st day of August, 1980, with the following members present to -wit: Mike McKinney, Chairman Elmer Ball Margaret Bates Jerry Brown Julian Dyke Mary Zauber Kevin Conklin and Lynne Prewitt of the City staff were present. William Shafer, City Councilman, was also present. Representing Pee Wee Football were the following: Jon Atwood Mrs. Current Larry Hanlon Bob Steenhaf Dick Friend Cathy Baze Cathy Goldstein Representing Little League Baseball were the following: Mrs. England Jan Daniel Pearl Farmer Cathy Baze Dick Friend Larry Hamlin represented the DFW Soccer Association. The invocation was given by Elmer Ball. The minutes of 7/28/80 were approved unanimously. Under Discussion Items, seasons and schedules of various youth sports in Grapevine were discussed. Pee Wee Football - projected 5 to 6 teams, with practice beginning Sept. 2; first game to be Sept. 20, with the season ending Nov. 22; all games are to be played on Saturdays. Soccer - projected 39 to 45 teams, with practice beginning Sept. 15; first game to be played on Oct. 4, with the season ending Nov. 22; for the spring of 1981, practices to begin Feb. 9, with games from March 7 to May 2. Little League Baseball - practice to begin April 13, games from May 1 - June 26; projected 20 teams. Under Citizens Requests and/or Miscellaneous Reports, it was announced that board member Richard Rutledge had moved outside the city limits. Under Action Items, the date of Sept. 4th at 7:30 P.M. was set aside for the special board committee to meet at City Hall to study the present Parks and Recreation Ordinance. The date for the next regular meeting was set for Thursday, Sept. 25th, 1980, at 7:30 P.M., Grapevine City Hall. There being no further business, Elmer Ball motioned that the meeting be adjourned.
