1969, THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND
POSTED ON THIS THE 17TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1980.

The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in
regular meeting at 7:30 P.M., on this the 20th day of November,
1980, with the following members present to -wit:
Don Callenius
Margaret Bates
Julian Dyke
Mike Pearce
Elmer Ball
Dorothy Foster
Kevin Conklin, Director of Parks and Recreation was also present.
The meeting was called to order by Kevin Conklin.
The invocation was given by Margaret Bates.
The minutes of 10/23/80 were approved unanimously.
Under Citizens Requests and/or Miscellaneous Reports, Kevin
mentioned that a new Superintendent of Recreation had been
hired. He is Skip Keller, currently employed by the City of
Euless. He will begin his first full day on Monday, December
8.
Don Callenius suggested that there should be a youth advisor
on the Board. He mentioned that the youth advisor should be
someone of high school age, and recommended by the coaching
staff at the high school. Kevin said that he and Mike McKinney
would talk to Skip Casey about the position.
Under Discussion Items, the 1981 Capital Improvements Program
was discussed. The concept of multi-purpose athletic fields
was discussed by Kevin. The next board meeting was scheduled
for Thursday, December 18, 1980, at 7:30 P.M. At that time,
the capital improvements program would be discussed in more detail.
There being no further business, a motion by Don Callenius to
adjourn was made, and seconded by Elmer Ball. All present voted
aye. The meeting was adjourned.
