1969, THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND
POSTED ON THIS THE 16TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1980.

The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in
regular meeting at 7:30 P.M., on this the 18th day of December,
1980, with the following members present to -wit:
Mike McKinney
Mary Zauber
Jerry Brown
Margaret Bates
Dorothy Foster
Julian Dyke
Elmer Ball
Don Callenius
Kevin Conklin, Director of Parks and Recreation, and Skip Keller,
Superintendent of Recreation, were present.
The meeting was called to order by Mike McKinney.
The invocation was given by Mary Zauber.
The minutes of 11/20/80 were approved unanimously.
Under Citizens Requests and/or Miscellaneous Reports, the following
business took place:
Skip Keller was introduced to the board.
Work has begun at the Senior Citizens Center addition, with the
foundation having been poured and inspected.
Sign-ups for pee wee basketball will continue until December 24.
Games will begin January 17 at Timberline School. Men's Basketball
teams have played 3 games. There are 6 teams in the league. Women's
Volleyball has eight teams. Games will begin about January 19.
Under Action Items, it was announced that Kevin And Mike had been
unable to meet with Skip Casey concerning the youth advisor position
on the board. A meeting in January will be set up.
Under Discussion Items, the Capital Improvements Program was
discussed. Kevin had met with Gordon Bates, Larry Hamlin, and
Jim Swinney on Wednesday, December 17, to discuss various plans
and proposals. These three people have been actively involved in
little league, soccer, and girls softball for several years.
Several plans involving athletic field improvements were discussed.
Plans would be presented to some contractors and price estimates
for items such as concession stands, lighting, fencing, etc. would
be requested.
The date for the next youth sports meeting will be January 29, 1981.
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by
Mike McKinney and seconded by Jerry Brown. All present voted aye.
The meeting was adjourned.
