ADJOURNMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S., AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 227, ACTS OF THE 61ST LEGISLATURE, REGULAR SESSION, 1969, THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON: THIS THE 26TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1981. PARKS AND, RECREATION DIRECTOR CITY OF GRAPEVINE x COUNTY OF TARRANT x STATE OF TEXAS x The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in regular meeting at 7:30 P.M., on this the 29th day of January, 1981, with the following members present to -wit: Mike McKinney Jerry Brown Margaret Bates Julian Dyke Don Callenius Elmer Ball Mike Pearce Kevin Conklin and Skip Keller of the City Staff was present. The following people were present representing Little League Baseball: Vernon Wright, Dick Friend, and Mrs. Pearl Farmer. Pee Wee Football was represented by Mrs. Pearl Farmer and Carroll Clewere. Larry Hamlin represented the Soccer Association. The meeting was called to order by Mike McKinney. The invocation was given by Elmer Ball. The minutes of 12/18/80 were approved unanimously. Under Discussion Items, the following business took place: Little League Baseball announced that their first practice would be April 2, 1981. The first regulation game would be May 1, and the last game would be July 2. The projected number of teams is 16. Coppell will not be allowed to play with the association this year. The Grapevine Association will be made up of teams from Grapevine and Southlake. Kevin announced that due to practice facility limitations, practices for Little League, Five Pitch Base- ball, and Girls Softball would have to be limited. It was announced that there would be a meeting with youth sports officials regarding the concession stand at the pool. The Spring Soccer season will have 41 teams, and 450 Grapevine participants. The season will start February 28, and end April 28. Kevin offered the City's assistance in typing and printing the soccer schedules. Pee Wee Football projects that they will have 5 teams in Fall of 1981. They will start practice 2 weeks after school starts. League games will be played 4 weeks after the start of school. Under Citizens Requests and Miscellaneous Reports, Kevin said that the Senior Citizens addition was about 65% finished. Skip Keller gave an update on sports, and it was announced that Mike Davis was appointed by the School Board to be the Board's Ex -Officio member. There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Jerry Brown and seconded by Elmer Ball. All present voted aye. The meeting was adjourned. DIRECTOR OF PARKS & RECREATION CHAIRMAN
