The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened
in special meeting at 7:30 p.m., on this the 31st day of
January, 1983, with the following members present to -wit:
Mike McKinney
Jerry Brown
Don Callenius
Elmer Ball
Julian Dyke
John Levitt
Janice Kirkland
Kevin Conklin of the City Staff was present.
Mike McKinney called the meeting to order.
The invocation was given by Julian Dyke.
Don Callenius motioned that the Minutes of January 19, 1983
be approved. Janice Kirkland seconded. The Minutes were
approved.
Under Discussion Items, the Board discussed a proposed five-
year capital improvements project list. After much input
from the Board, it was decided to upgrade the list by the
following:
(1) eliminate the mention of "solar option" for the
natatorium
(2) place the recreation center in 1984-85
(3) move $75,000 to 1983-84
(4) move $350,000 to 1985-86
(5) allocate $250,000 land acquisition to 1986-87
(6) allocate $150,000 for 1987-88 facility improvements
Under Action Items, Jerry Brown motioned to recommend the
amended program to the Council, and Julian Dyke seconded.
The amendments were approved.
The date of the next board meeting will be March 29, 1983.
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was
made by Jerry Brown, and seconded by Janice Kirkland. All
present voted aye. The meeting was adjourned.
