ADJOURNMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S., AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 227, ACTS OF THE 61ST LEGISLATURE, REGULAR SESSION, 1969, THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS THE 23RD DAY OF MAY, 1983. DIRECTOR OF PARKS & RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANI' STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in regular meeting at 7:30 P.M., on this the 26th day of May 1983, with the following members present to -wit: Mike McKinney Elmer Ball Bobby Nery Janice Kirkland Don Callenius Kevan Conklin of the City Staff was present. The meeting was called to order by Mike McKinney. The invocation was given by Hobby Nery. Elmer Ball motioned that the Minutes of January 31, 1983 be approved. Don Callenius seconded.. The Minutes were unanimously approved. Mike McKinney suggested that the Hoard first select its officers, before proceeding with further business. Elmer Ball motioned that this item be tabled until more board members could be present to vote. Janice Kirkland seconded., and the item was tabled. Under Discussion Items, Kevin discussed the proposed capital improvements program. The City Council has had three workshops on the program, and the breakdown for the parks and recreation aspect is: $1,510,000 - indoor pool and land purchase, 1983-84 $540,000 - purchase of park land and improvements, 1984-85 The status of Parr Park and Oak Grove Park was discussed. The initial gradework has been completed at Parr, and work has not begun yet at Oak Grove. The Board also discussed the proposed department budget for 1983-84. Under Action Items, the Board voted unanimously to recommend the proposed budget for 1983-84 to the Council. Don Callenius motioned to recommend approval, and Elmer Ball seconded. The next meeting was scheduled for Thursday, June 23, 1983. There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Janice Kirkland, and seconded by Bobby Nery. All present voted aye.
