The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened
in regular meeting at 7:30 p.m., on this the 30th day of
April, 1984, with the following members present to -wit:
Scott Brown
Jerry Brown
Bill Martin
Don Callenius
Bobby Nery
Sue Burgtorf
John Levitt
Julian Dyke
Mike McKinney
Janice Kirkland
Kevin Conklin of the City Staff was present.
The meeting was called to order by Mike McKinney.
The invocation was given by Mike McKinney.
The minutes of March 26, 1984 were approved unanimously.
Mrs. Elmer Ball was unable to attend the meeting to accept
a plaque of special service in memory of Chuck Ball.
Under Discussion items, the following reports were made:
(1) Parr Park - the park is scheduled to have a ribbon
cutting sometime in June; the Council adopted the hours
of operation as 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. year round.
(2) Oak Grove Softball Complex - the lighting system
has not met test requirements as of yet; the complex
is tentatively scheduled to open in the fall.
(3) Park for Glade Crossing - Crow Development Company
is now processing the title policy and warranty deed to
the property; after the City has the deed, then work on
the park may proceed.
(4) Park for Dove Crossing - Haynes Development Company
is now processing the title policy and warranty deed to
the property; after the City has the deed, then work on
the park may proceed.
(5) Park for the Woods - Kevin has met with a group of
citizens from the Woods Subdivision regarding the park,
and the design work is now proceeding.
(6) Bond Election - Kevin will discuss the timing of the
Parks and Recreation bond election with a financial advisor.
(7) School Board Representative - The position of School
Board Advisory Member is still open; Kevin will draft a
letter to the School Board and ask the Board to appoint
someone.
(8) Budget Review Meetin5 - A budget review meeting will
be held Wednesday, May 16, at 7:30 p.m.
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made
by Jerry Brown and seconded by Bill Martin. All present
voted Aye. The meeting was adjourned.
