AND RECREATION BOARD AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS THE 20TH.

The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in regular
meeting at 7:30 p.m. on this the 29th, day of August, 1985, with the
following members present to -wit:
Sue Burgtorf
Margaret Telford
Sherry Blackshear
Bill Martin
Julian Dyke
Shane Willbanks
Penny Bigbie
Bobby Wise
Bobby Nery
Kevin Conklin and Mark Mailes of the City Staff were present. Also
present were Dan Schock of soccer, Doug Place of Pee Wee Football, and
Bob Farmer of Baseball.
The meeting was called to order by Sue Burgtorf. The invocation was
given by Julian Dyke.
The Minutes of July 11 were unanimously approved.
Under Discussion Items; the following are reports and summaries from
Youth Sports:
(1) soccer: projects to have 650-675 participants; 45-50 teams;
games begin September 21 and end November 23; requested that
practice kick boards be furnished by the City;
(2) baseball: projects to have 12 teams for 1986, had 12 in 1985;
voiced concern over practice facilities;
(3) football: projects to have 6 teams in 1985, compared to 5 in
1984; games begin September 28 and end November 16.
There were no Action Items. The next meeting is scheduled for
September 26, 1985.
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Bill
Martin, and seconded by Bobby Wise. All present voted aye. The
meeting was adjourned.
