Board to recommend hours of reservation for the Rotary Pavilion at Parr Park. VII. Under Discussion items there was the item of outdoor volleyball courts under consideration. Suggestions of having a court at Parr Park and one (1) at Dove Park, possibly by Spring 1987. A net reservation system would be used. The Rotary Pavilion Reservation Statement has been approved by City Council November 18, 1986. Next meeting was set for January 15, 1987, with location to be determined. There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Bill Martin, seconded by Alex McKee. All present voted aye. The meeting was adjourned. DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION CHAIRMAN CITY OF GRAPEVINE >> COUNTY OF TARRANT >> STATE OF TEXAS >> The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. on this the 25th. day of September, 1986, with the following members present to -wit: Sue Burgtorf Craig Martin Bobby Nery Margaret Telford Alex McKee Bill Martin Members absent were: Sherry Blackshear, Julian Dyke, Penny Bigbie, Shane Wilbanks, Bobby Wise, Mike Conroy. Staff members present were: Kevin Conklin, Mark Mailes, and John MacDonald. The meeting was called to order by Sue Burgtorf. The invocation was given by Alex McKee. The Minutes of August 28, 1986 were approved unanimously. Under Citizens Requests/Miscellaneous Reports: - Kevin mentioned that Craig Martin might want to attend a meeting on October 7, 1986 at the high school to discuss the possibility of a teen center; - Kevin mentioned that the proposed capital improvements list, along with the staff's own recommended list, has been forwarded to the City Manager's office; - The City has received $280,500 from Mr. Joe Wright, developer of Winding Creek, Phase 2; the funds will be spent to improve Dove Park; John MacDonald reported that there are 45 adult softball teams playing in our fall leagues; that Pee Wee Basketball registration will be held in December; we will probably offer a winter softball league and a co-ed volleyball league; we have not had enough teams for flag football. There were no Discussion Items, Under Action Items, the following business took place: The Board's initial recommendation regarding the Rotary Pavilion at Parr Park was amended to read: Reservations for the Rotary Pavilion must be confirmed seven working days in advance but no later than 12:00 p.m. of the last City working day prior to the desired use period for Grapevine residents/organizations. After this time, non -Grapevine residents/organizations may reserve the Rotary Pavilion. The hours of the pavilion's reserved use are: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday through Saturday; Reservations may be made in four hour blocks to be defined as 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.; 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.; 4:00 p.m. - 8:ou p.m.; no more than 2 consecutive blocks may be reserved for the same day. Reservations will be handled on a calendar year basis. Bobby Nery motioned and Margaret Telford seconded to approve the amended recommendation. All present voted aye. The recommendation was approved.
