DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE >> COUNTY OF TARRANT >> STATE OF TEXAS >> The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. on this the 4th. day of June, 1987, with the following members present to -wit: Julian Dyke Bill Martin Bobby Nery Alex McKee Sue Burgtorf Margaret Telford Mike Conroy Penny Bigbie Bobby Wise Shane Wilbanks Randall Stem City Staff: Kevin Conklin John MacDonald The meeting was called to order by Sue Burgtorf. The invocation was given by Kevin Conklin. Minutes of the April 30, 1987 meeting were approved. The new Board Member, Randall Stem, was introduced to all present. It was reported that there are 62 adult softball teams this spring. The D/FW Soccer Association has completed their games for the Spring Season and will begin play again in August. With the departure of Ann Gventer, Cathy Blazek has been hired as the new Aquatic Supervisor. The swimming pool season has been announced as being from May 31, 1987 to August 16, 1987. There is a possibility that the Dallas Road Soccer Fields may be lost because of the owner losing his tax exemption. The Parks & Recreation Department is looking into relocating some fields at Meadowmere Park and Pickering Park. John MacDonald handed out additional material concerning the National Youth Sports Coaches Association. A discussion and question and answer period followed. The local Youth Sports Representatives were notified and requested to attend but were not present. The next meeting was scheduled for July 16, 1987. There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Margaret Telford, and seconded by Bobby Wise. All present voted aye. The meeting was adjourned.
